Body dimensions

How to measure?

Length (m)

Width (m)

The top profiles are

Level Raised in the middle

Number of cross-members

The transverse metal bows stay under the tarpaulin, so a reinforcement is added where each one sits.

Cross-member spacing

2.25 · 2.25 m

Cross-member spacing

Distances are measured along the body: from the outer edge of the front profile to the centre of the first cross-member, between cross-member centres, and from the centre of the last one to the outer edge of the rear profile.

Body front → cross-member 1

m

Cross-member 1 → body rear

m

Total: 4.50 m = Length of the body

The total always equals the body length: changing a distance recalculates the last one, and changing the last one recalculates the first.

Tube diameter (mm)

The outer diameter of the roll-up tube. The pocket hem is calculated from it: half the tube circumference plus 2 cm.

Tarpaulin flaps and drops

The flaps and drops are measured downwards from the top edge of the body.

Front flap (m)

Rear flap (m)

Tarpaulin drop

Tube side (m)

From the edge of the body down to the end of the tube pocket, including the pocket itself.

Fittings/rail side (m)

The vertical drop of the tarpaulin on the long side opposite the tube.

Hardware along the long side

Metal eyelets that the U-shaped battens of the body pass through and are locked with a sealing rope. Switch off if the cover is held by a rail.

Tube tensioning with elastic rope

Ø10 metal eyelets every 50 cm in the weld above the pocket and L-shaped hooks on the body, staggered. The elastic rope runs in a zigzag from the eyelets to the hooks.

Accessories

The ropes used to tension the tarpaulin and lock it to the body. Add them to the order if you need them.

8 mm elastic rope 18 m × 0.90 € = 16.20 €

Elastic rope for tensioning the front and rear flaps and, with “Tube tensioning with elastic rope” switched on, the tube.

L-shaped hooks 18 pcs × 0.48 € = 8.64 €

The hooks for the elastic rope — 5 on each flap and, with “Tube tensioning with elastic rope” switched on, along the long side below the tube.

Sealing rope — only with fittings

The sealing rope is only offered with “Hardware along the long side” (Fastening tab) — it runs through the U-brackets.

Why online

Securely covered cargo. Quick opening. Made exactly to your body.

The tarpaulin rolls up on one side around a metal tube, so it opens and closes without being taken off the trailer. You order it here, without bringing the vehicle to us.

Price straight away

The calculator prices the fabric, reinforcements and fittings from the dimensions and options you enter.

3D preview

You see the body with the dimensions you entered before you order.

No workshop visit

We make the tarpaulin to the dimensions from the diagram and send it to you by courier.

How it works

From the measurements to the finished tarpaulin

  1. 01

    You measure the body

Following our diagram: body length and width, flap heights and the tarpaulin drops.

  2. 02

    You configure the tarpaulin

You enter the dimensions, number of cross-members, fastening and tarpaulin colour, and see the price.

  3. 03

    You send the order

We contact you to confirm the dimensions before we start making it.

  4. 04

    We make it

The fabric is cut and joined by high-frequency welding, with reinforcements where the cross-members and fittings are.

  5. 05

    You receive it by courier

You fit the tarpaulin yourself on the existing structure of the body.

How to measure

Dimensions are of the body, drops go down from its edge

The tarpaulin is made for your specific body, so the dimensions must be accurate. All of them are shown on the diagram — you can print it and write the measurements on it.

  1. L×W

    Body length and width

The outer dimensions of the body, measured along its top edge.

  2. K

    Front and rear flap

How far the tarpaulin hangs down over the front and rear walls, from the top edge of the body.

  3. T

    Drop towards the tube

From the edge of the body down to the end of the pocket for the roll-up tube, including the pocket itself.

  4. O

    Drop towards the fittings

The vertical drop of the tarpaulin on the opposite long side, where it is fastened to the body.

With a sealing rope or turn buttons, the rings of the new tarpaulin must line up with the brackets on the body. If the measurements are not accurate, some brackets may have to be moved.

If your old tarpaulin was made correctly, you can send it to us as a template.

Construction

Rolls up on one side, tensioned with elastic

Along one long side the tarpaulin ends in a continuous pocket for a metal tube it rolls up around. The short sides hang over the front and rear walls and are tensioned with elastic rope through the rings of the tarpaulin and the hooks on the body. The opposite long side is fastened with a rail, a sealing rope or turn buttons.

Pocket for the tube

The tube stays hidden in the pocket and only sticks out at both ends to connect to the roll-up mechanism.

Reinforcements

Every area that rests on the body or on the cross-members is additionally reinforced against chafing.

Tube tensioning with elastic rope

A common way of fastening the tube side. Directly above the pocket, in its weld, there are Ø10 metal eyelets every 50 cm. Along the long side of the body, below the tube, L-shaped hooks are fitted every 50 cm, staggered relative to the eyelets. The elastic rope runs in a zigzag between them — once outside and once inside the tarpaulin — and presses the tube firmly against the body.

In the calculator the option is in the “Fastening” step and is on by default; the eyelets are included in the price. The required 8 mm elastic rope and the L-shaped hooks are in the “Accessories” step.

Included in the price

  • The tarpaulin made to your dimensions
  • The pocket for the metal tube

Not included

  • The elastic and sealing ropes — unless you have added them from the options
  • The metal rail
  • Hooks, brackets and other fixings mounted on the body
